Unless you need a car for the rest of your travel we highly recommend you travel by train from the airport.
There are no cars in Zermatt.
Private vehicles are only allowed as far as Täsch. From Täsch you have to take the train or a taxi service to Zermatt.
Low Cost Air Taxi to Sion
Sion Airport is 1h15 away by Taxi (some have the licence for Täsch - Zermatt private road) or 1h50 by train.
FlyAeolus offers a Private Jet Alternative in Europe. Depart when you want and land closer to your final destination.
Ski Rental
We recommend Flex Rent located directly across from the Sunnegga lift station (and Bus stop for MEX if you decide to go to the Glacier area or Italy) where you can rent skis, poles, boots, helmets and snowboard.
After ski, you can leave boots to dry there and skis so that you can simply walk home with your normal boots.
